A Serious Saturday

I don’t do this often, but here is a trigger warning:  if you suffer from depression and you don’t want to hear me talk about my depression and feelings about suicide, DON’T WATCH.

As for those who watch, I hope what I say helps, or at least enlightens.

  1. Thank you I do suffer from depression maybe not to the level you do but it is hard when no one understands and that you have a few and I do mean a very few friends and or people one can talk with thank you.

  2. I hesitated to click ‘Like’ since this subject matter isn’t likeable. But, you’re baring of your soul video deserves a ‘Like’ and more. Bravo .. for having the courage to speak and express the feelings that people go through when in deep depression. I have 3 daughters. All of them have severe depression they’ve been overcoming since their teen years. Every medication has been taken by them, in addtion to, hospitalizations for up to 30 days(private and state facilities) and there have been suidice attempts too. They’re all at different stages now. They’ll always have it. It’s an illness. It doesn’t go away like a scratch when you fall. It’s there everyday. They have to deal with it everyday. And I ??? I have to deal with the guilt that I don’t feel I’ve had any successes because I created these children that have to live with an illness that people label in such a negative way that it’s hidden. When will mental illness be treated with the respect and dignity. No one wants to have it. It’s extremely painful. It’s always on the shoulder of those who have been burdened to carry it. Your video shows the raw feeling that many may have but are fearful to let anyone know. Thank you for doing what you do.

  3. Cassie, I’ve always been in awe of your strength for doing what you’ve done , transitioning and all. The world needs that strength, so don’t ever think otherwise. I’m also in awe of your intelligence and creativity.

And don’t even think that no one cares about you, or that your loved ones are better off without you. A lot of people care, more than you’ll ever know.

And me, Annie and Kerry need you. They exist in my own little world, and you’re the only one who can give them life.

To be honest, I don’t know what else to say. But, I understand what you’re going through. Don’t think I don’t.
